The Texas Sex Offender Registration Program is a public notification law designed to protect the public from sex offenders. This law requires juvenile and adult sex offenders to register with local law enforcement in the city or county they reside in. Registration involves the sex offender providing their name and address, a color photograph, and the offense the offender was convicted of. But beware, sex offenders stay abreast of the counties that do not track or update their sex offender registries as diligently as they should. When sex offenders know about these counties, they will sometimes flock to them to be able to live more freely.

You can do a search with your zip code, with your neighborhood, and you just type in your zip code. Search for sex offenders. It will bring up a list of, I mean, whatever this zip code is… 25 registered sex offenders. And it will tell you what they were convicted of, they’ll show you a picture of them, what their name is, where their address is.”
